Rev. AndreaGrace reflects:
I just love this video of Luca delighting in the snow – having found new freedom with walking and running!
And I just love witnessing how Luca’s mom delights in him, encourages him, picks him up when he falls, protects and guides him. Luca is her beloved.
My most favorite image for the G-d is that of our Divine Parent! There are many images of G-d as a parent in the Hebrew Scriptures. Jesus taught this as well (Matthew 7:11).
Luca’s mom, myself as a mom, my own parents, your parents – we are all human with imperfections - and yet we love so deeply and express our love for our children in a myriad of ways to the best of our abilities.
Our Divine Parent is perfect and loves perfectly.
Our Divine Parent calls each of us Their Beloved.
Our Divine Parent loves us and wants to be in relationship with us.
This belief fills me with so much awe and comforts me like a warm cozy blanket!
Attached is a summary of the liturgy I led last Sunday when we remembered Jesus’ baptism. Included is my reflection on how each of us is G-d’s beloved child as well as a guided meditation.
May each of us recognize that we are truly beloved.
May we be open to be loved by G-d and others.
May we be love in this world.
Amen.
