Rev. AndreaGrace Heads to Rome for the Synod on Synodality

Pope Francis has created a “Synod on Synodality” to determine how the Institutional Catholic Church should move together in solidarity, listening to the Holy Spirit, especially as She speaks through one another.

The theme comes from the Prophet Isaiah: “Enlarge the place of your tent,

stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”

The process began two years ago when Pope Francis asked every baptized Catholic – whether or not they were practicing today – to share their experience and their hopes for the Church at listening sessions. Rev. AndreaGrace and Emily held multiple listening sessions and submitted a formal report which you can read here.

.

Rev. AndreaGrace is traveling to Rome on Monday Oct. 10, 2023 for Synodal events – including a media day that her priestly order is hosting. She is looking forward to attending the Spirit Unbounded global, hybrid conference with the visionary, Sr. Joan Chittister OSB and the globally renown Dr. Mary McAleese, former president of Ireland and international human rights lawyer.

Please join us in praying with the words Rev. AndreaGrace offered in her Listening Session report:

Eternal God of Love

May we know the expansiveness of Your love.

Come. Come Holy Spirit,

Lead us back to Jesus.

May we recognize You in our diverse sisters and brothers.

May we gather every person as Jesus did and be magnets, drawing others to Your abundant love.

May we be instruments of radical reform – building God’s kin-dom of love, peace, joy, justice, mercy and inclusiveness.

May we preach the Gospel and use words, only when necessary.

May Your hands direct our ways.

May the lines we draw bring us closer together.

May we be a Eucharistic people –

giving thanks in all things and recognizing that we truly are the Body of Christ.

Oh, Divine Extravagant Love

Be with us in our living and loving and dying.

May we know that we are safe in Your enormous heart,

with every need cared for.

In Jesus’ name, we hope and pray and trust. Amen.
