greeting hello
with a meeting of the eyes and
a gentle smile
learning someone’s name
and using it in the conversation
shaking hands in a warm clasp
asking a thoughtful question that
invites the person to share about
something meaningful to them
treating the other person with respect
recognizing they are a sister or brother
in the human family
offering…
the opening of a door
generosity with time
an encouraging word
patience
listening intently and
honoring what the person is saying
speaking my truth with love
practicing and carrying myself
with gentleness
goodness
peace
joyful hope
and kindness
that these gifts
and this way of being
become part of who I AM
